Who is responsible for your data

This website is operated by Amalthea Real Estate, at Calle cristal 13 · Mijas · 29649. We decide why and how your personal data is used, which under the GDPR makes us the data controller.

To reach us about anything on this page: use the enquiry form on our home page.

What we collect, and why

When you send an enquiry. The form asks for your name, email address and a description of what you are looking for. A phone number and a budget range are optional — leaving them blank does not stop the form working. Along with what you type, our server records the IP address the enquiry came from and your browser's user-agent string. We use all of this to answer you and to prepare a shortlist; the IP address and user-agent exist so we can tell a genuine enquiry from automated abuse, because the form accepts a limited number of submissions from any one connection.

When you enquire about a partnership. We collect your name, email and partner type (agency or independent broker). You may optionally provide your business name, country or main market, phone number, preferred type of collaboration and a message. We use these details to assess and respond to your partnership enquiry. Please do not submit your clients' personal details in this introductory form. The enquiry storage, recipients and rights described on this page also apply to partnership enquiries.

What we record alongside it. Campaign and partner codes are carried in internal page links and search forms so they survive sorting, pagination and language changes. These parameters can appear in browser history, shared links and server logs. We attach them to your enquiry; we do not create a separate attribution cookie or browser-storage identifier.

When you save a property. Your shortlist is kept in a cookie in your own browser. Your browser sends this first-party cookie to our site so the Properties catalogue can show your saved selection. We do not create an account or a separate saved-property database for this feature. See the cookie section below.

Your catalogue search. Search filters and the number of expanded cards are included in the page URL so you can reopen or share a search. Anyone receiving that URL can see those search criteria. Your viewing position is kept separately in the current tab's browser history, not in the shared link. No additional cookie is used for this feature. Requested URLs may appear in the server access logs described below.

When you simply browse. Our web server keeps a standard access log — the IP address, date and time, the page requested, the page you arrived from and your browser's user-agent. This is ordinary server operation: it is what lets us diagnose faults and identify attacks.

With your permission, we use Yandex Metrica to measure visits, property views, form starts, successful enquiries and brochure downloads. We do not send names, email addresses, phone numbers or enquiry messages as analytics events. Session Replay, click maps and automatic link tracking are disabled. Yandex receives technical visit data, including your IP address and browser information. We do not sell personal data.

Yandex Metrica is loaded only after you allow analytics. You can refuse or withdraw permission using Cookie settings in the footer. The catalogue and enquiry forms remain available. Withdrawal stops future collection but does not automatically delete data already received by the provider.

Our legal grounds for using it

  • Your consent, given by ticking the box on the enquiry form, and steps taken at your request before entering a contract — GDPR art. 6(1)(a) and 6(1)(b). You may withdraw consent at any time; that does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.
  • Our legitimate interests — GDPR art. 6(1)(f) — in keeping the site available and free of abuse, which is why server logs and the IP recorded with an enquiry exist.
  • Legal obligation — GDPR art. 6(1)(c) — where accounting, tax or anti-money-laundering rules require us to keep records of a transaction.

Who else sees it

Your enquiry is read by our advisors. Beyond that, it reaches only the suppliers who make the site run:

  • Our hosting provider, Timeweb, which operates the server the site and its enquiries sit on.
  • Google, but only if you open a map in a catalogue, or scroll to a property page's map. The map is loaded from Google at that moment, and Google receives your IP address as a result. If you never open or reach a map, nothing is requested from Google.

Where a property interests you enough to proceed, we may need to introduce you to the seller, developer or a lawyer, and will tell you before we do. Otherwise we do not pass your details to anyone, and we never share them for someone else's marketing.

Where your data is stored

Our server is located in Saint Petersburg, Russia, which is outside the European Economic Area. Countries outside the EEA are not all recognised by the European Commission as offering equivalent data protection, and Russia has no such adequacy decision. This means your data is transferred outside the EEA when you contact us, and you should take that into account before sending anything you would not want stored there.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries — for as long as we are in contact about your search, and afterwards only as long as we need them for our records or the law requires. Ask us to delete yours and we will, unless a legal obligation makes us keep it.
  • Server access logs 14 days, then overwritten automatically.
  • Your saved-property cookie — one year, or until you clear your browser's cookies. You can also remove properties individually using their bookmark buttons.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask us to:

  • confirm what personal data of yours we hold, and give you a copy
  • correct anything inaccurate or incomplete
  • delete it
  • restrict how we use it, or object to our using it
  • hand it to you, or to another provider, in a portable format

To exercise any of these, use the enquiry form on our home page. We answer within one month. There is no charge, and you do not have to give a reason.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, at www.aepd.es. We would rather you came to us first.

Cookies

The site uses a functional saved-property cookie and a cookie that remembers your analytics choice for six months. Only after permission may Yandex Metrica set analytics cookies and browser-storage entries. We do not load a tracking pixel when JavaScript is disabled.

Changes to this policy

When what we do changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves. If a change materially affects how we use data you have already given us, we will tell you directly rather than rely on you re-reading this page.
